Crazy Momma!!

Yesterday I was making the boys some chocolate milk. I got the chocolate syrup out to put in their milk. I thought I'd be nice and let them have a little syrup right out of the bottle (Yes, I sometimes teach my children inappropriate things) so I told Garrett to open his mouth. He did as he was told (such a good boy) and I squeezed a bit of chocolate syrup in his mouth. I told Turner to open his mouth and he said, "Put in cup! Crazy momma!" He cracks me up!

We were getting ready to leave for my mom's house and Garrett found this hat and wanted to wear it. I think it is quite appropriate for this little guy!!

Over Memorial Day weekend we headed to the lake for some fun. Garrett enjoyed rolling around in the sand and splashing everyone.

Turner enjoyed hanging out on the boat and drinking juice and eating snacks. This is where he prefers to be when we go out on the boat. We do force him off the boat for some fun, too.

The boys hanging out on the beach.

Turner is not too sure about being off the boat. He really doesn't enjoy lake water or sand.

We also had a family reunion. Garrett was so smiley when we were taking pictures. This is him and Grandma Neva.

Grandma Neva and all her great grandchildren.

We also attended a birthday party for Grandma Doak. Turner enjoyed the gift table!

I guess maybe Garrett was cold?

School's Out- Almost!!

We've been laying pretty low these past few weeks. I haven't even taken very many pics of the boys. We had Mother's Day and I don't think I took any pics!! After such a busy March and April, it's been nice to just hang out at home. I am really looking forward to school being out for the summer! I'm not looking forward to the heat, especially since our air conditioner decided to finally die. We've been resurrecting it yearly and knew it would go eventually. I think we'll have to wait until this winter to replace it, so in the meantime we are investing in some window units to keep us cools this summer. After Memorial Day we are going to work hard on the potty training. They are usually pretty good about sitting on the potty, but that's usually all they do. It should be a fun summer between the potty training and switching to toddler beds instead of cribs. Is it too late to hire a nanny??

Ranchin' Boys

Last weekend Craig and I took the boys to the ranch since my cousin Jason and his wife were camping there with friends. The boys had a great time throwing sticks in the river and riding around looking at cows and windmills.

The differences in food choices is quite obvious here- Garrett has a banana and Turner has a cookie

Yesterday the boys and I went to the ranch with my parents and my brother. Chris wanted to take Grandpa David's old Ford tractor and fix it up so he could use it at his house. My dad and Chris worked at getting the tractor and all the implements onto the trailer and ready for transport to Mississippi. My mom and I tried to keep the boys entertained. It was also my dad's birthday, so the boys got their favorite food- cake!

Turner hanging out in the back of my dad's truck- the kid is a little monkey! He would let go and fall onto the seat.

Chris's new tractor being pulled by another tractor. Notice the bush that was uprooted when they moved the tractor.

I made the mistake of telling the boys that after their nap we were going to go to the ranch, so of course, there was no napping. They were way cranky when we got to the ranch and wouldn't get out of the truck. I was worried I'd made a mistake in taking them out there. They love tractors and I really thought they would enjoy it. After some juice and fruit snacks, they warmed up enough that they were ready to venture from the truck.

The boys are on another old tractor. Turner was trying to shift gears, and here he is saying, "It's stuck!"

Turner taking a break from all his hard work

Garrett driving his tractor. He was having the best time making tractor noises and driving!

Helping Grandpa with his cake. Even though Turner had a bowl of cake and ice cream in front of him, he kept eating off the cake.

We had a great time seeing family from other states. I know the boys will soon be asking to go back to the ranch so they can throw sticks and rocks in the river!

Summer Haircuts

It is getting warmer here in OK and Craig and I decided it was time to give the boys a haircut. I've cut it a couple times and we've also taken them to a professional. It is so short when I do it with the clippers, but it is also pretty cheap. Garrett has crazy hair. It is a bit curly and never lays down. I comb it all the time, but if he takes a nap- it's wild again! Turner has pretty tame hair, just lots of cowlicks that make it go weird directions, but it stays pretty flat most of the time. Craig and I decided since summer is just around the corner I would cut their hair and give them a summer cut. Here are the after photos and one of the boys helping to clean up the mess.

Turner and his haircut. I had to bribe him to smile for me! I told him I would put on movers if he would smile and let me take his picture!

Easter- Yes, I know I 'm super late!!

We had a great Easter weekend! It was so busy!! On Good Friday we got up early and headed for Wichita for the boys 2 year pictures. These are just a few of the ones taken of the boys together.

It's hard to get the attention of both boys and get them to smile!!

This is one of my favorites and we didn't get any copies of it! Too many pics to choose from!!

As soon as were done with pics we headed back to Alva for the boys first Easter egg hunt at the nursing home. It didn't take the boys long to figure out what they were supposed to do.

Then they went inside to pick a prize and meet the Easter Bunny. Garrett loved the Easter Bunny and was probably in a lot of other people's pictures. Turner, not so much.

I love how Garrett is looking at the Bunny!

Turner tolerated being near the Easter Bunny.

We went home and dyed some eggs. The boys had fun, but not so much Craig and I. We decided to do it outside to minimize the mess, which was a good decision. The boys didn't seem to understand to gently drop one egg into a cup at a time. They wanted to toss several in at the same time, so it got a little messy. They did drop a couple, so they both got to eat a hard-boiled egg, which I was really surprised Turner ate his! The next morning we went down to the square for some more Easter fun! The boys participated in the Easter egg hunt. Garrett was about to die seeing all the eggs and not being able to pick them up. Turner won a prize this year- maracas! Then we hung out while the egg drop was done, but didn't actually get to see any of it since our rockstars wanted to be on the stage at the courthouse. We also watched the duck run, which was pretty fun to see.

Garrett upset about waiting for the hunt to begin.

Turner checking out the grass in his bucket.

After the hunt eating jelly beans and showing off their prize.

Our little monkey Turner swinging from the decoration on the stage of the courthouse. He kept doing this over and over!

Garrett running with the ducks down 4th St. by the fire station. They flood the street with water from the fire hydrants and then let the ducks go!

After the duck race, we took a quick trip to Enid to get Garrett some new jeans that fit his skinny behind. We left the boys to hang out with MeMa and PaPa. Then it was off to the lake for Craig's family Easter gathering.

Turner being silly at the lake

Garrett on the big kids' scooter. They loved playing with the big kid toys!

Garrett hunting eggs at the lake. He kept picking up the eggs and putting them in the back of this dump truck. It would only fit one, so he would give me the egg and replace it with another in the back of the dump truck.

Sunday morning the Easter Bunny came and left this stuff in the boys Easter baskets.

Garrett was quite excited and went straight for his new computer. Turner was very unhappy about the change in his routine and wouldn't look to see what he got.

He was alright once Daddy broke out the chocolate! Chocolate bunny for breakfast?? Yummy!!

Garrett enjoyed his as well!

Turner eventually warmed up and looked at his other stuff in his basket, but stuck pretty close to Daddy.

Garrett really enjoys his new computer!!

Sunday afternoon we were on the road again for my family's Easter gathering. The boys had another egg hunt and this is a pic of them with the cake my mom made just for them. These boys love cake!!

We had a great time visiting everyone, but we were all exhausted by Sunday evening!!
